Management of the septic patient
- Prior to attendance, make sure you are familiar with the content discussed in the « clinical signs of hypovolemic shock and sepsis » as well as « treatment of hypovolemic shock » presentations
- Understand the underlying pathophysiology associated with sepsis and how it affects the resuscitation strategy
- Be able to discuss the indication for colloids, vasopressors and steroids in patients with sepsis
Le Dr. Liz Guieu sort diplômée de Liège en 2008. Elle a ensuite effectué un internat rotatif suivi d'une bourse de recherche en soins d'urgence et en soins intensifs à l'école vétérinaire de Maisons-Alfort (Paris, France). Elle est devenue diplomate de l'American & European College of Emergency and Critical Care (ACVECC) en 2016 après avoir effectué sa résidence à l'Université de Guelph (Ontario, Canada). Elle a récemment rejoint l'Université d'État du Colorado dans la belle ville de Fort Collins, CO, en tant que professeur adjoint clinique. Ses principaux intérêts sont la ventilation mécanique, la septicémie, les soins aux patients.
